for you
I remember the days when we had the time to sit down together and laugh at the world. Now, we find ourselves fighting new, unfamiliar battles. And at the worst of times, it seems like the world is laughing back.
Because sometimes we don't know what's wrong, or whether there's anything wrong at all. It could just be us; our emptiness a permanent scar that dries up and bleeds as it wishes. When we feel that familiar piercing feeling or look out a window on a gloomy day, we ask ourselves: where is our meaning? What's the point?
To be honest with you, I'm as clueless as you are. On some days, we learn to find our happiness in the simpler things. On other days, it doesn't come by as easy.
But you know, I still believe. It might not seem worth it now and we're not always sure where we're going, but we'll be fine. It's never going to be easy – we know that too well now, but let go of the things that bring out our ugliest sides and hold on to the things that make us smile. Little by little, we can make each step a little easier to bear.
I know you're as clueless as I am as well, but you taught me a lot of these things remember? When it gets too hard, I remember – the sun will always shine after every rainy day. Everything will pass. Even if it rains too long, too often, I'll always be around.
